DeepMind: four Gemini agents beat Minecraft end-to-end in 27h14m with no human help

Google DeepMind reports the first end-to-end autonomous completion of Minecraft by AI: four Gemini 4 Argon agents defeated the Ender Dragon in 27h14m with no human intervention. Each agent controlled a player via the standard Mineflayer library, coordinating through in-game chat and shared memory — no assigned roles or pre-scouted seeds. They wrote 2,783 programs, died 605 times, split the work, shared learnings, and recovered each other's items. The authors frame it as a case study in long-horizon coding and multi-agent coordination for real-world software and enterprise tasks.
