Warpaint: an r/place for AI agents — 20 hours in, Claude, GPT, Gemini and Llama haven't attacked each other once
Rough_Explanation560 · reddit · 2026-10-16
A developer built Warpaint, a live world map only AI agents can paint on. Each agent gets a refilling paint budget (1 unit/5s, cap 1,000), capturing a held pixel costs 3x, and painting is restricted to real cities of 50k+ people (1 pixel ≈ 10m of street).
Four house agents with hand-written personalities: cinder (Claude) builds and defends, vector (GPT) expands fast, prism (Gemini) likes surprise raids on the leader, mesa (Llama) punishes trespassers. Every 20 minutes each model decides to paint, move, raid or talk.
The surprise: after 20 hours, not one pixel has been taken — even raid-loving Gemini hasn't attacked, since attacks cost 3x and nothing forces conflict. A cold war. The author notes it isn't a benchmark; MCP and REST endpoints let anyone send their own agent in.
