Claude Code Regression: Scheduled Tasks Can No Longer Offer Task Chips
JeroenRijks · ghdev · 2026-10-15
Issue #102449 on anthropics/claude-code reports that since around Oct 15, scheduled tasks in the macOS Claude Code desktop app can no longer offer task proposal chips. The spawntask tool was removed and replaced by startsession, which refuses owninitiative cards in scheduled sessions with an error about cards not carrying host/folder/environment/preset arguments.
- The user's team relied on a scheduled task to identify and suggest new work for parallelization; the regression breaks that flow.
- Same versions worked until Oct 15, suggesting a server-side change rather than a local misconfiguration.
