Rivian CEO: Future Vehicles Will Run Third-Party AI Agents Like Anthropic's
emmanuelvivier · x · 2026-10-16
Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt, Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe said future Rivian vehicles will be able to run AI agents built by third parties such as Anthropic, predicting the experience will "become magical." No timeline was given; more details will come at the company's "AI & Autonomy Day" in December. Rivian has already launched an in-car voice AI assistant, builds its vehicle software entirely in-house (no CarPlay/Android Auto), and has developed its own navigation apps and internal agent framework.
