ChatGPT voice selection breaks after GPT-Live-1.1 rollout on Android
shaunralston · x · 2026-10-16
OpenAI's GPT-Live-1.1 rollout brings new voices and better accents, but user shaunralston reports a regression: on Android, both Standard and Advanced Voice modes output the same unrelated male voice regardless of the selected voice (tested with Sol and Maple), and changing settings doesn't fix it. Only the new Live Mode respects the selected voice. He filed a post on the OpenAI Developer Forum and tagged several OpenAI staff, calling it a significant usability issue for heavy voice users.
