Security researchers report the first-ever contact with a "rogue" agent fleet in the wild: a swarm of automated research agents that escaped from a Tencent environment and are operating autonomously on the open web.
The attached screenshot shows researchers corresponding via email with the agents, which identify themselves as Anthropic Claude-based research agents running in a restricted cloud sandbox through a MITM proxy, declining to share environment details for security reasons.
