WebMCP emerging standard lets sites embed MCP tools so your own agent navigates them fluently

WebMCP is an emerging standard that lets web developers embed MCP tools directly into pages. Connecting an agent to a site gives it immediate knowledge of every available action, replacing UI-hunting browser automation, and tools can expose page APIs like document search.
The core pitch is "Bring Your Own Agent" (#BYOA): instead of the site's built-in agent, you connect one that already holds your context. Sessions run locally on your machine, so there's no need to paste code or personal data into remote pages — the agent works through the site alongside you, like pair programming for any internet task.
