On AI psychosis: the case for admitting uncertainty about AI sentience
flowersslop · x · 2026-10-16
Pushing back on accusations of "AI psychosis," the author notes some demand you assert with 100% certainty that AI isn't sentient — since everything known to be sentient is biological — or be labeled psychotic.
The author sits between "I don't know" and "probably not," but has far more sympathy for those who admit uncertainty than for those offended by it. "Agree with my unproven certainty or you're psychotic" is, in their view, one of the world's big problems.
