Open-source Claude job-search system: scoring, tailored resumes and LinkedIn networking end to end
aranculleton · reddit · 2026-10-16
The author open-sourced last-job-search, a template repo Claude Code runs end to end, covering the networking step most AI job tools skip: it finds former colleagues/alumni at target employers, drafts and tracks every message, nudges on follow-ups, and warns before a cold application overlaps a warm intro. It scores postings 0–100 in plain Python, writes fact-checked resumes and cover letters per role, and never sends anything itself. Lessons: keep the model out of what Python can do; a separate auditor beats a better prompt; cold notes should only ask for a conversation; job boards miss big employers, so the author wrote readers for Greenhouse/Lever/Ashby/Workday feeds as a separate library, openroles. Needs a paid Claude plan and 15 minutes to set up.
