Robot fully controlled by frontier LLMs assembles gadgets autonomously for 1.5 hours error-free
ihorbeaver · x · 2026-10-16
Developer ihorbeaver reports that over the past month his team fully switched a robot in customer deployment to frontier LLM control — expecting to replace only 90% of operations, they replaced all of them, without changing dexterous grippers.
The architecture is a supercharged System 1/System 2: high-level reasoning via an agent based on Opus and Astra (many generations beyond any VLA), fast execution via computer vision code written by the model. Yesterday's run: 1.5 hours of autonomous customer gadget assembly, zero errors.
