Open-source Grok Bot alternative: local AI bot team with plain-Markdown memory
Arindam_1729 · x · 2026-10-16
Developer Arindam1729 open-sourced an alternative to Grok's Bot & Muse: your own team of AI bots on open models, running on your machine.
- Each sidebar contact is a bot powered by Muse Spark Open (via Nebius), with web search, cloud browser, and code mode tools.
- Memory is just a plain MEMORY.md file — no vector DB, no black box; fix what the bot got wrong in any editor.
- Bots split work: one message, and router bot Jev picks the right bot in a few hundred ms, handing research to Scout and drafting to Quill.
- Connect Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Notion via Composio; per-bot approval levels (ask first or full access).
The author reports using it daily in his own open-source Grokbot build with solid results.
