Claude dev Felix Rieseberg's tutorial: 4 ways to be more ambitious with AI
daniel_mac8 · x · 2026-10-16
Felix Rieseberg, who works on Claude, published an 8-minute essay responding to the recurring "we're not ambitious enough with AI" refrain — and turned it into an actionable tutorial.
His core framing: model capabilities grow unevenly. Quoting Terence Tao, models are "astounding in some directions, while inadequate in others" — some pilots are flying while most users are still asking basic questions.
He breaks ambition into four types:
- Speed: same work, less time — AI's bread-and-butter economic value, skipped as established.
- Altitude: abstracting up to outcomes rather than individual tasks.
- Depth: approaching a task the way a field-leading expert would.
- Range: broadening the scope of what you attempt.
He also shipped a be-ambitious Claude skill that agents can install by pointing at it.
