cramforce · x · 2026-10-16
Vercel announced that Daemons is now in public beta, letting developers run background workers that pull jobs from queues, databases, or third-party systems. CEO Guillermo Rauch ties the name to its 1963 MIT origin—'daemon' described background processes tirelessly performing system chores, inspired by Maxwell's thermodynamic thought experiment.
