Claude eng lead's 'be more ambitious' tutorial turned into a /ambition Claude Code plugin
jakedahn · x · 2026-10-16
Felix Rieseberg, an engineering lead working on Claude, wrote a tutorial titled "How to be more ambitious: A tutorial for humans with models" — arguing that the common advice to "be more ambitious" with AI is hard to follow in practice.
Developer Jake Dahn turned that post into a Claude Code plugin, /ambition, which rewrites a task into the version a more ambitious person would have asked for and states what that version requires.
The plugin breaks ambition into axes:
- Altitude: climb from the literal task to the rung where the agent owns the outcome (e.g. "keep CI trustworthy" instead of "fix this flaky test").
- Depth: work the way the best person in the field would — from the rawest material, with real instruments, to a hard number, judged by an outside evaluator that is neither the model nor you.
- A third axis is not fully shown in the excerpt.
The repo has 0 stars and a single commit, containing .claude-plugin, examples, skills/ambition and a README.
