AI-written cold emails hit a wall: Pragmatic Engineer's reply gets templated AI response

Gergely Orosz shared that a University of Waterloo student emailed him for advice, he replied thoughtfully, and got back an obviously templated AI-generated response — while the original email was likely AI-written too. He warns this is wrecking cold email trust for everyone, even from university domains.
