Snowflake's FDE team uses three questions to decide which customer projects to scope in
ivory_tang · x · 2026-10-16
The head of Snowflake's Forward Deployed Engineering team runs every project through three questions: Will it create real impact for the customer? Can it be repeated for other customers and industries? Does Snowflake have the right to win long term? Only if all three are roughly yes does it proceed. On repeatability, builds don't have to be identical — "if I get 80, 90% of it in the right place, I call that a win" — and impact always comes first, since plenty of customer work moves nothing.
