E2B sandbox usage doubled to 2B in 5 months, 61% of traffic now from agents
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-15
Sandbox provider E2B says it took 3 years to reach 1 billion sandboxes, but only 5 months to double that to 2 billion. The "disposable computers" behind Manus's viral moment ran on E2B, and its CEO says 61% of traffic now comes from agents.
The CEO admits sandboxes are becoming a commodity: the underlying stack relies on open-source Amazon tech, and Tencent has already replicated its API. The 16-person company is betting on staying open source, giving every agent its own private cloud, and holding the line on security.
