Nobody will win 'the one AI you use': shared formats make multi-assistant the rational move
Ok_Negotiation_2587 · reddit · 2026-10-15
A Reddit analysis argues the single-assistant era is over: OpenAI shipped Dots agents, Google pushed Gemini 4 Argon to paid users, Gems are being replaced by open SKILL.md skills, and Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md. Frontier models leapfrog every few months while shared instruction formats make switching cheap — so the rational move is per-task assistant hopping. But your history doesn't move with you; the author bets the valuable layer is whatever keeps your work in one place across assistants (disclosure: he builds such an extension).
