Codex bug on Windows: primary agent can't access bundled in-app browser
AviVolah · ghdev · 2026-10-14
Issue #53912 in openai/codex reports that on Windows Work Mode the primary agent cannot acquire the bundled browser: agent.browsers.get("iab") fails and only Codex MCP Apps are listed, blocking local checkout-flow testing before any page opens. Reinstalling the plugin (26.1007.71326) didn't help; similar reports exist for macOS (#53425) and Windows discovery failures (#53306).
