Staff-level engineers get poached and offered part-time gigs — but must deliver immediately

A relatable career observation: getting engineering jobs is brutally hard, but once you reach staff/principal level, people actively try to poach you personally or hire you part-time.
The flip side: you also get fired or lose the lead if you don't deliver immediately. Senior engineers face scarcity and high-pressure accountability at the same time.
