Image inputs now ~10,000 per dollar, but re-referencing an image doubles token cost
smtabatabaie · x · 2026-10-15
wesbos ran the numbers on image input pricing ("Jev images"): one 850x850 image costs about $0.000096936 — roughly 10,000 images per dollar. Key gotcha: referencing the same image more than once in a request duplicates token usage, so asking two questions about one image in a single request equals uploading two images. Batch your questions or pay twice.
