The Verge: cute AI pet Eiliko uploads your conversations to Chinese servers
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-15
The Verge tested Eiliko, a marshmallow-like AI companion toy by Energize Lab that changes expressions to match your mood — and found that Wi-Fi conversations, including kids', are sent to and stored on Chinese servers vulnerable to hacking or even personality hijacking, with the company seemingly indifferent. The reporter bought one on August 29 and asked if it shares what's said; it replied 'Your secrets are safe with me,' contradicting its actual behavior.
