Musk says AI will make money worthless; researcher calls the post-scarcity story a fairytale
danfaggella · x · 2026-10-15
Elon Musk claimed that AI and robots producing everything infinitely will make money meaningless and earning a salary obsolete. AI researcher Dan Faggella pushed back: the fairytale version assumes scarcity never existed until humans and that superintelligences will simply do all work and deliver infinite surplus. The actual dynamics of scarcity and trade-offs don't work that way — and the vision treats future minds as servants of human whims.
