Open-source skill builds your own AI news digest engine from hundreds of sources
Cole Medin · youtube · 2026-10-15
Cole Medin shares his system for keeping up with AI without drowning, open-sourced as a free skill (build-signal-engine):
- Data layer: Apify scrapes hundreds of sources (Reddit, X, GitHub, etc.)
- Filtering: dedupe plus code-topic filters
- Decision layer: an agent named Jev judges each item
- Output: one short daily digest
All sources are managed via a single config file. The skill first interviews you about what you care about, then drives your coding agent through six build-and-test stages to assemble the whole pipeline, with cost details and a live demo included.
