Running Claude Code unattended for 7 hours on two YouTube channels: building automation that never fails silently

A creator handed scripts, voice-over, image prompts, rendering and comment replies on two YouTube channels to Claude Code overnight (7 hours): 3 long 4K episodes rendered, 32 images generated (a numbered contact sheet caught one bad jersey and one failed prompt), 8 comment-check rounds, and a 6 AM status report. The valuable part is the failure post-mortem: in-session timers silently miss when the session is busy, a routine sat stuck on an unseen permission prompt, and a one-time scheduled task fired zero times. Fixes: use durable scheduled tasks, verify execution after every due time (not just "scheduled"), run a 20:00 check that everything due tomorrow is queued. On test night the check caught the missed 03:15 task and it went live a minute after waking. Permission blocks on production deploys and external writes are treated as correct defaults. Core lesson: "You can't build automation that never fails. You can build automation that never fails silently." Honest footnote: output moved, subscribers didn't — agents can produce but can't tell you what the audience wants.
