Hesai launches KosmoOne AI spatial camera; Pixar uses it to digitize its campus for 3DGS rendering

- Hesai unveiled the Kosmo 3D world data engine, Kosmo World cloud platform, and KosmoOne — billed as the first AI spatial camera integrating an 8K imaging system, lidar, 1-inch CMOS and high-precision IMU with microsecond-level sync.
- Pixar's RenderMan creative lead Dylan Sisson scanned the Pixar campus (iconic Luxo lamp included) with KosmoOne, rendering it via Houdini and RenderMan 28 with 3DGS, and released an official tutorial.
- For robotics, the same scan outputs spatially aligned 3DGS, mesh and depth data; a Sharpa robot trained on a 15-minute digital-twin scan of a DQ store cut failures 10x and hit 99% task success. Hesai claims 100x data-collection efficiency vs real-robot teleoperation.
- Hesai frames this as a second growth engine alongside actuator modules (10,000+ units delivered, 22-DoF Sharpa Wave hand in Nvidia's Isaac GR00T reference), partnering with Galaxy General, Amap and others.
