Scoble: Tesla FSD 14.3 update is spectacular even on 8-year-old Hardware 3 cars
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-15
Robert Scoble says his car received the FSD 14.3 light update this week and calls it "spectacular" — remarkable given his vehicle runs the aging Hardware 3 computer. He credits Tesla's team for distilling large models built for Hardware 4 cars down to far slower old hardware with inferior cameras.
He plans a third round trip to San Francisco (3 hours of driving) and argues Tesla's FSD is far ahead of any competitor, pushing back on claims that Chinese autonomy efforts are better since China has no comparable fleet of 8-year-old cars running FSD. The quoted post recaps his conversation with @hellosimar during a fully self-driving ride, covering Tesla vs. Waymo, Elon stories, and startup ideas in robotics, BCI, and self-driving.
