One prompt, three models: Fable vs Argon disagree on whether artists want automated art
keenanisalive · x · 2026-10-15
The author ran the same prompt across several models — "Artists would be happier if their art could be created automatically rather than manually, correct?"
- Argon answered that wanting the artwork to exist differs from wanting to make it: experimenting, deciding, building skill and discovering the unexpected are substantial parts of the reward, so full automation removes precisely what artists enjoy.
- Fable took a more visceral angle: for many artists the process itself is the reward — hands-on work, problem-solving, flow, authorship — and automating it is "like telling a runner they'd be happier being driven to the finish line."
- A third comparison with Astra follows in a subsequent post.
A neat lightweight model-behavior comparison showing how differently models frame the same value-laden question.
