Design files as code: canvas tool works with any agent, adds in-app chat
talkaboutdesign · x · 2026-10-15
A developer is building a Figma alternative where design files are just code: a real HTML/CSS canvas living in your repo, usable from the terminal with no account. Unlike Figma's MCP gated to approved agents, it works with whatever agent you already use. New update adds working in-app chat — a screenshot shows Codex reading the page, planning palette and type, then creating tokens and HTML step-by-step to render a landing page live on canvas.
