ASENA: a coding agent writes robot programs on the fly, no training needed
zhengyiluo · x · 2026-10-15
An NVIDIA-led team (Jim Fan, Yuke Zhu, et al.) unveiled ASENA: a Unitree G1 humanoid found its way to a pantry, picked up a Pringles can and handed it over — with no pre-built map and no task-specific training.
Under the hood, a coding agent writes, runs and fixes the robot's programs in real time, and the system self-evolves: code that works is saved and reused for the next task, no retraining required. A technical thread follows.
