Perplexity CEO: Over 50% of agent-paying users are American, US alone can build a trillion-dollar company
AravSrinivas · x · 2026-10-15
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas argues America is the market to build for: more than 50% of users paying for Automations (recurring agentic tasks) or higher-tier plans on his platform are American, and net dollar retention for US self-serve businesses onboarded on agents is consistently high.
Citing Berkshire Hathaway ($1T) and JPMorgan ($940B), whose customer bases are largely US-only, he contends the US alone can sustain a trillion-dollar company, thanks to its "recursive" spending culture and unmatched entrepreneurial energy.
