Data scientist's 2026 playbook: build a business decision machine with RAG + agents on the LangChain stack
mdancho84 · x · 2026-10-15
Matt Dancho (103k followers) argues the easiest way to stand out in AI + data science in 2026 is building a business decision-making machine: it takes docs + data, cites sources, runs analysis, and outputs decision recommendations — all with RAG + agents.
The attached diagram maps the LangChain ecosystem: LangChain as the app framework (prompts, models, LLMs, API integrations), LangGraph for orchestration (state management, conditional branching, multi-step workflows), and LangSmith for observability and evaluation (monitoring, log & trace, evals). It's ultimately course marketing, but the architecture breakdown is a usable learning path.
