DraftAgent: A Rust MCP server that lets AI agents reliably edit Word documents
randomtimbersfan · reddit · 2026-10-15
A Reddit developer released DraftAgent, a local MCP server written in Rust for inspecting, transforming, and converting Word documents via AI agents. It exposes DOCX internal structure, makes targeted edits to paragraphs, runs, tables, cells, and styles, supports chained multi-step operations, validates batches before applying with structured diagnostics, and converts to HTML/PDF. Runs locally over stdio. Still early with fidelity limitations; the author is soliciting feedback on where agents struggle most with document edits.
