After TV Time died with 15 years of data, he rebuilt it as 10,000 Obsidian Markdown notes

Developer Sébastien Dubois wrote a 43-minute technical write-up on rebuilding his media tracking after TV Time shut down in July 2026 and wiped 15 years of viewing history he never backed up.
- His Obsidian vault now holds 10,260 media notes (plus books) as plain Markdown files — movies, shows, anime, manga, games, board games — with covers, statuses, ratings, ownership, prices and play dates, versioned in Git and synced multiple times daily.
- Notes are integrated into his knowledge base: browsable, queryable, publishable, and answerable by AI, with real code from his vault included.
- Performance data on a 30K+ file vault: movies-by-director query over 4,874 rows in 0.38s; an All view with dozens of formulas over 10,160 rows in 6.86s — cost scales with rows × formulas.
- The system will ship as part of the Media Management module in his Obsidian Starter Kit.
