Google's ADK brings one agent framework to Python, Go, TypeScript, Java and Kotlin
rseroter · x · 2026-10-15
A Google Cloud blog post details how the Agent Development Kit (ADK) supports Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, and Kotlin, each built natively for its runtime while sharing one architecture.
Key points:
- Every language ships an MCP client, so tools exposed as MCP servers are callable from any language
- Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol enables HTTP interoperability between agents across languages/frameworks
- A one-line uvx google-agents-cli setup installs first-party ADK skills into coding agents like Antigravity, Claude Code, or Codex
- Scaffold commands generate projects with A2A endpoints and deploy configs for Cloud Run, Gemini Enterprise Agent Runtime, or GKE
Author rseroter notes that even as pre-built agents fed custom skills may rival code-based agents, a cross-language framework removes the Python-only assumption.
