$46M of AppSumo sales shows AI agents take just 12% of spend

Noah Kagan broke down $46M of software sales on AppSumo, offering demand-side data for bootstrapped founders:
- 36% customer acquisition tools (marketing/sales)
- 23% do-it-for-you tools (automation/creation)
- 12% AI agents and app builders
- 11% boring back-office tools
- 6% infra tools
Despite all the AI agent hype, most money still goes to marketing and sales tools. The takeaway: first-time founders should work down this list — if you can't sell a marketing tool, don't attempt an infra tool.
