Epic says its new games launcher was 'vibe coded'

Epic Games announced a preview refresh of its PC games launcher: significantly faster and now supporting Linux. Most notably, Epic says in a blog post that the rewrite was "vibe coded" — "Programming is hard. So, instead of doing that, we vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher."
This follows CEO Tim Sweeney's Monday announcement of a "huge pivot underway," moving developers around to "retool for maximum AI acceleration." Epic has been publicly pushing AI-assisted development, and this puts the rhetoric into a shipped product.
