Claude Fable 5.5 Spotted in Azure's Model API, Launch Imminent

Claude Fable 5.5's model ID appeared in Microsoft Azure's model API yesterday, though it's not yet in the public catalog and Anthropic has said nothing. Fable 5.1 left the same trail on Amazon Bedrock and launched about a day later.
- Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku have all moved to 5.5 since September 22; Fable is the last Claude still on 5.1
- 5.1 was Anthropic's smartest model but burned through limits fast: Max subscribers reported a five-hour window gone in 20 minutes
- The attached screenshot shows a litellm-providers commit adding azureai/claude-fable-5.5, sourced from Azure's East US 2 model API, listing $50/M output tokens — same as 5.1, but likely copied over
