agent-manager: an open-source MCP server giving coding agents a shared, persistent brain
Aware_Web9715 · reddit · 2026-10-14
The author released agent-manager (MIT), a self-hosted tool that gives coding agents persistent, shareable memory.
- Ingests project docs, rules, notes, and live services into a local knowledge graph; any MCP or HTTP client can search it, ask cited questions, pull a context pack per task, and save notes for the next session.
- Pure stdlib Python, single process; connect --agent vscode writes the MCP config automatically.
- Open questions posed: one brain across projects vs per-repo, and how to keep agent-saved notes from rotting. Repo: github.com/mazinb/agent-manager
