If an AI helps discover a drug, who gets credit?
yi111 · reddit · 2026-10-14
A Reddit discussion asks how traditional authorship can describe AI contributions to discovery: a model may suggest a molecule, spot patterns in clinical data, or connect findings across papers no individual had time to read. Humans still design experiments and verify results, but discovery becomes shared with a system that cannot hold credit. Should recognition go to the model builders, the researchers using it, the data-supplying organization, or all of them?
