ICLR reviewer gets 3 submissions built on the same idea, all in identical Claude-sounding prose
WhiteBear2018 · reddit · 2026-10-14
An ICLR reviewer assigned 3 papers found all of them to be unreadable "unfiltered Claude slop" sharing the same core method: instead of estimating two predictors' errors individually, they all examine the difference of errors/scores, let a troublesome shared term cancel out to derive a tighter bound, then build elaborate theory around it.
Beyond the shared idea, the three submissions introduce it identically, use the same Claude-flavored prose, and organize extra proofs and experiments in similar ways. The poster suspects an autoresearch pipeline is mass-producing such papers and asks if others have seen the pattern — a signal that AI-generated submissions are flooding top conferences.
