Anthropic's monorepo now merges up to 30,000 code changes per day (30,401 on Sep 9), up from 2,500/day in May — a 12x jump shown in their published chart. To handle the load, engineers stopped reviewing every line and instead review the intent of each change, with their role shifting to understanding system-level design tradeoffs — and often telling Claude "no."
