t3 code proposal: themes with agent-editable custom CSS, detailed in 3 stacked PRs
NERDDISCO · x · 2026-10-14
NERDDISCO rallies votes for his t3 code proposal (GitHub Discussion #19088) on themes with agent-editable custom CSS: optional CSS (max 16KB) and embedded image assets (max 1MB, exposed as var(--t3-asset-name)), a theme-editor CSS tab with live preview, and data-t3-part named UI regions for CSS targeting — implemented as 3 small stacked PRs.
Demos include "Pink Love," edited live by an agent from one prompt, and "Orbital" using NASA imagery behind glass HUD panels; 14 themes already built, from a retro MP3 player to a pirate map. Motivation: today's themes stop at color, while users want fonts, wallpapers, and layout tweaks — currently requiring patches or userstyles that break every release.
