Anthropic monorepo merged 30,401 changes in a single day as AI agents scale coding
TheZvi · x · 2026-10-14
A chart of Anthropic's monorepo from January–September 2026 shows daily merged changes exploding from hundreds early in the year to 30,401 merged on Sep 9 alone, with the 7-day average climbing near-vertically after a quiet week in August. The enormous volume, heavily weighted toward bulk change requests, is widely read as evidence of AI agents writing code at industrial scale — enough to make even Zvi say "holy shit."
