Jason Fried: improving existing software with AI has never been more fun
martyamark · x · 2026-10-14
37signals founder Jason Fried says he has seriously flirted with returning to client work, because rapidly improving existing products with AI has never been more fun — everything can get better quickly, most people have no idea what to fix, and even those who do need direction.
He notes improving Basecamp and HEY keeps the company busy enough, and he's less interested in the selling side. The poster adds that developers will stop shipping software and start building agents instead.
