@omcamsmith introduced "claude-as-cad": building actual robots and parts without knowing any CAD. Language-based prompting for CAD agents is imprecise and hard to steer; instead, have Claude build you a Claude-native CAD interface. Three ingredients he's found:
- Click to reference: click any part of the build and [3D coordinate, mesh face, object id] are copied to your clipboard to paste into chat, for hyper-specific references
- 3D primitive editor: reposition/reorient any object; add a cube and scale/position it as a reference for Claude — easier to illustrate than describe transforms
