Cloudflare challenges devs to build the next GitHub for AI agents
samgoodwin89 · x · 2026-10-13
Cloudflare is calling on developers to build the next-generation Git platform for agents on top of Artifacts, its versioned filesystem that speaks Git and scales to millions of repos. The premise: when hundreds or thousands of agents work the same codebase, you need new answers for coordination, conflict handling, review, and tracking why changes were made. Artifacts supplies programmatic repo creation/forking, versioned storage for code and agent context, and Git operations agents already know.
First entrant: Ficus, built from Zürich by Matthewtylerayl for the challenge using alchemyrun and EffectTS — a Git platform that "builds itself, in public."
