60% of Canadian workers highly exposed to AI: new data map combines Anthropic and StatCan data
RichardsonDx · x · 2026-10-13
The author combined Anthropic's measurements of what AI actually does (millions of real conversations mapped to job tasks) with StatCan worker/business surveys and job-posting data to launch the Canadian AI Exposure Map on Open Nshipyard. Key figures:
- 60% of Canadian workers are in highly AI-exposed occupations;
- 1 in 3 workers used generative AI in the past year;
- 19.2% of businesses use AI to produce goods or deliver services;
- 6% of AI-adopting firms reduced employment due to AI, steady across survey waves.
The map shows which jobs AI does, who it helps and who it hurts.
