jscpd adds semantic cross-language clone detection to map AI code migrations
Affectionate-Blood92 · reddit · 2026-10-13
The author built semantic duplicate detection across languages into jscpd to verify AI coding-agent code ports. Cross-language clones act as a migration map: in the demo, 98% of fs-extra/lib functions (50/51) have counterparts in the Rust port fs-extra-rs, while only 40% of target functions map back — 83 pairs total, with per-folder/file/function status and similarity scores from 0.40 to 1.00. Details on the jscpd.dev blog.
