Claude Code Keys Memory to File Paths, Splitting Projects Across Machines
atopcu · ghdev · 2026-10-12
A detailed Claude Code issue reports that project identity is tied to filesystem path slugs, so memory and session history diverge across machines or symlinked paths—with a real case where one PC acted on a stale design decision. Author's workaround: store memory in-repo and use directory junctions. Proposal: stable project UUIDs (falling back to git remote), optional cloud memory sync, and a configurable memory directory.
